A new scheme to enable any driver to voluntarily reduce their impact on climate change has been launched by BP. Called targetneutral, motorists can calculate the cost of the annual C02 reduction required to make their vehicle carbon neutral – about £20 a year - by logging on to www.targetneutral.com. The money contributed to this non-profit making scheme - which will be monitored by an independent advisory and assurance panel - will fund global alternative and renewable energy projects. By registering their Nectar card and using it when filling up at a BP site, motorists can trigger a contribution from BP – up to 10p per tankful of standard fuels and up to 20p for Ultimate blends.
