Kenton Burchell has been promoted to the role of trading director for Musgrave Retail Partners GB. Burchell has been with the business for 13 years and began his career with the Londis store development and supply chain teams.

He went on to work on both the Budgens and Londis brands in his current role as head of trading operations where he has built a wealth of buying and category experience and led the commercial strategy for Musgrave. Burchell’s key focus in his new role will be to develop the trading team and to evolve the product and price offer to Budgens and Londis shoppers, particularly within fresh foods.

Donal Horgan, managing director of Musgrave Retail Partners GB, said: “In the past 12 months Kenton has led the pricing project culminating in Budgens’ Tesco Price Match campaign and Londis’ wholesale price reductions. I know he’ll prove very successful in his new role as trading director.”

Burchell replaces Willie Hamilton, who leaves after three years with the business. Most recently, Hamilton played a key role in the development of the SuperValu own brand offer in both Budgens and Londis.
