Total UK has signed a new five-year contract to supply fuel to 31 Co-op forecourts nationwide, representing a significant piece of business for the oil company, particularly in light of its up-for-sale status.
Richard Laden, Total UK retail director, said: “We are delighted to have completed this deal with a company like the Co-op, whose customer-centric values mirror our own.
“We are looking forward to working closely together in this long-term partnership and delivering a quality service that satisfies both the Co-op’s expectations and the needs of the forecourt customer.”
Meanwhile, despite industry rumours that Total was close to finalising the sale of its UK marketing assets, the company refused to confirm the speculation. Total UK corporate communications manager Iain Cracknell said: “At this stage the process remains ongoing and is bound by confidentiality agreements. We are not prepared to comment on market rumour or speculation. We will only release further information should an acquisition be completed.”
