CK Foodstores, which operates five forecourts and 25 convenience stores across South West Wales, is looking to update a filling station in Tenby, Pembrokeshire, removing three fuel pumps in order to extend the site’s shop.
The firm has applied to Pembrokeshire Coast National Park for planning permission for the project, which it says is necessary “to provide an improved retail and customer environment”.
At present the seaside site, which opened in 2019, features six pumps spread across two islands, together with seven customer parking bays.
CK is looking to remove one pump island and add a 1,076sq ft extension to the site’s shop in its place, while also adding eight parking bays and two EV charging spots.
If approved, the project will make it third time lucky for CK Foodstores, as in January this year the company submitted but then withdrew a planning application to extend the forecourt’s shop and add a one-bed holiday flat to the site, while in 2023 it was refused permission to remodel and extend the shop.
