Ben & Jerry’s is set to introduce a new Home Sweet Honeycomb flavour to its family this winter with the message: “It’s time to come together for vulnerable refugees.”

The awareness-raising flavour combines sweet cream ice cream with a honey caramel swirl and chocolatey honeycomb chunks.

The new flavour, which features a refugees welcome sign on front of pack, is the latest instalment of the company’s Together for Refugees campaign.

Ben & Jerry’s has teamed up with the International Rescue Committee to ask concerned citizens to take on a simple action: contact European leaders and ask them to support historic legislation that could help some of the world’s most vulnerable people rebuild their lives in safety.

Ben & Jerry’s UK & Ireland marketing manager Christina Dunn commented: “At Ben & Jerry’s we’ve always stood up for issues that matter to us, and over the years have championed many causes from marriage equality to climate justice. We’ve teamed up with the International Rescue Committee to say we are together for refugees, and we’re urging concerned citizens and ice cream lovers everywhere to join us in helping to give vulnerable refugees a safe place to call home.”

Two previous limited edition winter variants, Minterwonderland and One Love, are also set to return to the freezer aisle this month

Minter Wonderland features chocolatey chunks surrounded by minty ice cream, while One Love combines banana ice cream with caramel, cookie swirls and chocolate peace signs. Proceeds of this variant also go towards the One Love Youth Camp in Jamaica, supporting young people in reaching their potential through music, dance, and arts.

Dunn said: “We like to bring excitement to the freezer aisle in the autumn-winter season and with 70% of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream consumed on the sofa while watching TV, an occasion that increases in winter months, we hope our latest Fairtrade line-up will warm the hearts of our fans.”

Home Sweet Honeycomb, Minter Wonderland and One Love are part of the 500ml Classic range  with an RRP of £5.49.
