Five forecourts were among the winners in Boost Drinks’ biggest trade promotion. Entrants simply needed to stock five of Boost’s Energy range SKUs, display them in a store chiller with branded POS material, and send in a photograph of the products.

The winning store managers were:

• Karen Marshall, MPK Services (Londis), Conisbrough;

• Baz Patel, Park Service Station (Costcutter), London;

• James Kay, HKS Meteor, (Mace) South Normanton;

• Dave Dixon, NJB Askern Forecourt (Costcutter), Doncaster; and

• Owain Hughes, Damory Garage (Nisa), Dorset.

They all received £1,000 cash as well as £400 in marketing and advertising support. The winners are using the extra funds for a number of things, from shop improvements to the sponsorship of a local netball team. Park Service Station are looking to run a bespoke promotion whereby consumers buying any newspaper, will get a free sample of Boost’s latest product – Winter Spice.

Sales director Al Gunn commented: “The objective of Grab A Grand was to increase awareness and drive sales. The challenge was totally embraced by many forecourt retailers and we have been overwhelmed by the efforts made. We are now enjoying visiting the winners to thank them personally and to arrange their prizes. It seems that this latest part of our Champion of the Independents’ campaign really did take our relationships to a new level.”
