Coca-Cola Enterprises (CCE) is marking the festive countdown with the launch of its iconic Christmas truck tour, an on-pack promotion and return of its ‘Holidays are Coming’ TV advert, all designed to help retailers maximise sales in the run up to the big day.
The money-can’t-buy on-pack promotion will give consumers the chance to win a two-hour visit from the Coca-Cola Christmas truck to their hometown, plus a £5,000 hamper. Featuring across the Coca-Cola portfolio on a range of pack formats including 500ml and 1.75l, consumers will receive a unique on-pack code that can be entered online to be in with a chance of winning. The competition will be supported with in-store truck-inspired POS, to further build excitement.
In addition to the competition, the Christmas truck tour will stop at more than 40 locations across Great Britain over a six-week period.
The famous ‘Holidays are Coming’ TV advert will also air late November for its 20th year on British TV screens. For many, the advert marks the official countdown to Christmas and is set to encourage conversation around the Coca-Cola brand among friends and families and across social media channels.
Caroline Cater, director of operational marketing at Coca-Cola Enterprises, said: “When people think of Christmas, they often think of Coca-Cola. It’s once in a lifetime prizes like a visit from the Coca-Cola truck that really builds excitement around the holidays, and positions us as a brand synonymous with the festive season.
“Soft drinks in general are hugely important at this time of the year and are in fact the most frequently bought category in the eight weeks running up to Christmas. It is therefore important for us to provide captivating campaigns that allow retailers to maximise their Christmas sales. This year is no different. With this in mind we’ve continued to invest and build on the Christmas truck tour and ‘Holidays are Coming’ concepts that people have grown to know and love.”
