Mabco Petroleum has been working with Indigo Media to find a way of using its former Big Media Group screen. The screen at the retailer’s Lancashire Hill site in Stockport was left redundant after Big Media went into voluntary liquidation. According to Indigo Retail, Mabco managing director Usman Patel spoke to the epos technology provider about the problem and discovered he was able to run content using the existing screen and PC for less than £50 a month (after the initial set-up fee).

The new content went live last month and is being used to promote Mabco’s coffee-to-go offering and fresh convenience produce at its Londis-branded c-store. Indigo Media said retailers could use their existing hardware to promote different content on different screens as well as offer timed promotions which automatically change during the day.

Usman said he was delighted with the new solution: "The new screen content is ideal for maximising awareness of our fresh coffee-to-go offer. I’m looking forward to seeing how sales rise and adding new promotions to the screen."
