Nationwide sign installation company Xmo Strata has completed a synchronised image change across seven service stations in Kent and East Sussex belonging to George Hammond plc.
“Following an agreement with BP Retail, George Hammond had 12 weeks for planning and roll-out of the image change from Shell,” said Brian Madderson, managing director of George Hammond.
“We were concerned as we had heard horror stories in the past about independents changing brands, where items such as canopy facing were missing for lengthy periods of time – fuel volume and shop sales were lost in these incidences because of site disruption. However, meeting Xmo Strata put our minds at rest.”
The company surveyed the sites and suggested a joint meeting between the contractor appointed to decommission the sites, and all interested parties, to talk through concerns, questions and planning, while taking the least time out of the busy timetable.
“Changing all the sites to BP at the same time was a big challenge, but we wanted to make sure there was limited disruption for our customers,” said Madderson. “We were impressed with Xmo Strata’s communication, both in advance and throughout the image change, as this ensured that all risks were identified and well-managed. Project manager Kate Spencer-May was marvellous. She would call us at every opportunity to ensure
that individual site requirements were considered.”
