P&C Services has launched a new division and has strengthened its management team.

The new division will support the need for fire safety services, following completion of the BAFE SP203 for fire management, detection and alarms, Life Safety Fire Risk Assessment FPA and NEBOSH certification.

The new division Mechanical and Electrical will see Keith Philips, previously managing director of FireX UK, take on the role as operations director. It will provide fire risk assessments, ongoing support and training in compliance with the Regulatory Reform (fire safety) Order 2005, including design, installation and commissioning of fire alarms.

Philips commented: "All business owners have a legal responsibility to ensure they carry out a comprehensive fire risk assessment of their premises. We will provide this service, supplying our customers with a detailed report of any potential fire risks within their building, as well as ongoing support, consultancy advice and third party recommendations.

Richard Quarmby, managing director of P&C Services, added: "At P&C, with health and safety at our core, branching into fire safety, design and installation, utilising Keith’s knowledge and expertise, is the right step to take as the business continues to grow, offering further services to our facilities management portfolio.

P&C Services, whose clients include Top 50 Indies HKS Retail, Park Garage Group and Penny Petroleum, has also strengthened its management team with the appointment of Kevin Gardiner.

He joins as operations manager for the company’s forecourt small works teams, as well as heading up P&C Progressive, a new tank cleaning and fuel polishing division recently launched by the growing company.

Gardiner has a background working for for Gulf Oil, Shell Oil, Texaco, Simon Storage and, most recently, Murco Petroleum as maintenance and development manager.

Quarmby commented: "We are delighted to welcome Kevin to our management team. With his wealth of experience working for some of the biggest names in oil and a keen eye for health and safety initiatives, we’re pleased to have him on board and look forward to growing the business further with him at the helm of our tank cleaning division."
