The Passport point of sale system from Gilbarco Veeder-Root is now compatible with third-party pumps and accepts Conoco and Texaco payment cards.
As the latest generation in epos technology catering for chip and pin requirements, Passport’s ease of use is proving a big attraction with most forecourt staff learning how to use it within just a few minutes.
One of the first users of Passport in the UK was Mike Thorpe of Old Street Garage in Clevedon. “The system may use the latest computer technology but there is nothing complicated about it – you can train a new cashier very quickly,” said Mike.
Gilbarco Veeder-Root has also announced that two additional back office systems have now been approved for compatibility with Passport – Intellia from VBI and Manager International from E K Williams. Other back office systems are currently being modified and should soon be ready for testing.
Steve Horton, dealer sales manager at Gilbarco Veeder-Root, said: “It’s great news that Passport now has official authorisation to be installed with third-party pumps. Our engineering teams have already carried out a number of such installations without hiccup.”
Passport is now suitable for all forecourts including BP, Esso, Texaco and Conoco sites plus all dealer-owned sites.
