A wireless tank gauging system has been launched by Gilbarco Veeder-Root. The TLS-RF wireless communication system allows fuel retailers to install automatic tank monitoring in situations where it would previously have been too costly or impractical to fit the necessary wiring.
John Plevier, managing director of Gilbarco’s environmental business unit, says the new system offers a viable alternative for site owners who have previously postponed installing automatic tank gauges until other redevelopment work is scheduled for the site.
He says: "The value of automated inventory data provided by Veeder-Root’s tank monitoring products has been proven time and time again.
"The TLS-RF wireless system will allow operators to add ATG capability to sites that would otherwise have to wait for these benefits."
Launched in the US last year, the system has been designed to provide reliable, continuous monitoring. It’s been tested to ensure a broad range of operating profiles, including severe weather and different site layouts.
