Washtec’s AquaJet Touchless car wash hit the small screen last month when Yorkshire-based retailer Innerspace Stations officially launched the machine at its Hull Road forecourt.
BBC regional news programme Look North interviewed Innerspace Stations’ owner Graham Kennedy about the impact of the car wash following its installation in December 2009.
Graham and WashTec delayed launching the machine to the industry until they were confident the AquaJet rollover machine could offer an excellent washing solution for the UK market.
In the TV interview, Graham explained the impressive effect the new machine was having on customer retention and satisfaction levels. He also revealed that his car wash revenue has doubled in the first nine months of the year compared to his old four-brush rollover machine.
Dawn Frazer, marketing manager of WashTec, said: "Touchless car washing has has a chequered history in the UK. Modern touchless washing is now being seen as a novel style of washing and gives car wash operators a weapon to compete with hand washers."
