Independent fuel and energy distributor Certas Energy has appointed Andrew Goodwin head of fuel cards, succeeding Tim Shepherd, who has now retired having held the position for more than five years.
Goodwin rejoins Certas Energy, having spent 14 years at the company between 2008 and 2022, as national bunker manager. He has almost two decades of experience in the fuels industry.
According to Certas Energy, Goodwin’s appointment strengthens its commitment to driving innovation, customer-focused growth, and industry collaboration in the fuel card sector.
With a proven track record in both operational and strategic roles, Goodwin brings with him a deep understanding of the industry and a clear vision for the future, says the company.
It says: “His immediate priorities in the role will be to build on the department’s strong foundations, enhance the facilities and working environment for team members and focus on further developing the commercial performance.”
He will manage a nationwide team of 30 employees, with a new recruitment drive planned to further develop commercial performance.
Speaking about his appointment, Goodwin says: “Certas Energy plays a unique role within the industry, and I’m looking forward to driving growth and innovation in our fuel cards offering with our customers at the heart of this.
“It is an exciting time to be rejoining the business, with the relaunch of the industry’s first and only digital fuel card, FuelTapp, and the continued expansion of our bunker and truckstop site across the country. We have the infrastructure, scale, and ambition to support all types of fleets and operators.
“Our next chapter will place a strong focus on driver safety, convenience and the continued reliable supply of fuel for our customers, whether that be for diesel, HVO, or AdBlue.”
