Thirty four Certa service stations in the Irish Republic have been integrated into the DCC network after an IT and data communication project was completed remotely by IT specialist Implico Group.
The project involved 22 service stations where DCC, the parent company of Certas Energy, took over the operation from Tesco Ireland earlier this year, and also 12 stations from the DCC-owned fuel brand Great Gas.
Following completion all 34 stations will be operated under the Certa brand, and the project enables DCC to manage replenishment of the fuel stations using cloud services.
During the project the team from the customer support center at Implico mapped all logistics and finance processes for the new service stations in the SAP system used by DCC, and in the data communication service iGOS (Implico Global Operation Services).
The latter is a cloud portfolio that collects, validates, and corrects all data from the trading partners such as terminals, hauliers, fuel station locations and financial institutions.
It then passes these data on to the DCC headquarters in a standardised form.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Implico and DCC had to carry out the entire project remotely.

Implico also signed a contract with DCC to provide IT support for DCC’s service station network in Ireland.
