Extra MSA Baldock play area

Improvements included provision of a new children’s play area

A multimillion-pound investment into improving Cambridge Motorway Service Area has been completed by Extra MSA group.

Over the past year the service area, located at A14 (M11) J24, has undergone refurbishment and improvement works including installation of new high-powered electric vehicle charging points provided by Ionity; enhanced ecology and landscaping; a new children’s play area and outdoor seating; and updated onsite amenities including washroom facilities.

In addition, Cambridge Motorway Service Area has recently welcomed PizzaLuxe, an award-winning gourmet pizza brand offering a restaurant experience in the food court.

PizzaLuxe joins the selection of food, drink, retail and hospitality brands already located at the destination including: McDonald’s; KFC; Costa; M&S; Chopstix; El Mexicana; Warrens; WH Smith; West Cornwall Pasty; and Ramada Hotel.

Andrew Long, CEO of Extra MSA Group, said: “We’re committed to going the extra mile and providing an exceptional experience for visitors, and that’s why we’ve been investing in a number of motorway service areas across our estate.

“As well as attracting people travelling on key routes across the country, Cambridge Motorway Service Area regularly brings in local visitors from the surrounding areas to make the most of its food and drink offering and the stunning countryside setting.

“Our new and improved facilities will help create an even better overall for visitors to the motorway service area, and PizzaLuxe will provide a great high-quality food and drink option for those looking to dine-in.

“Helping to deliver on government targets, high-powered electric vehicle charging facilities have been installed, which will help to give drivers the confidence that they can recharge and get back on the road again quickly.”

Cambridge Motorway Service Area is one of eight Extra MSA Group motorway service areas across the country, spanning from Cobham (M25 J9/10) in the south to Leeds Skelton Lake (M1 J45) in the north.
