A new forecourt development is set to be built on the site of a former hand car wash operation, following its recent sale by specialist business property advisor, Christie & Co.
Camden Road Garage, a development site between Stratford-Upon-Avon and Chipping Camden spreads across approximately 0.4 acres and is situated close to the new Meon Vale development, which has planning permission to include 1,050 homes, along with extensive leisure facilities, a primary school and 800,000sq ft of employment space.
The previous owner, Cameron Thompson says: “I decided to sell the site as I felt it best that it was redeveloped back in to a modern petrol filling station to service the local area as there are none in the vicinity.”
Following a wide range of interest and multiple offers, the site was successfully secured by Vijayalakshmi (Saba) Maruthan, an experienced retail operator with a portfolio comprising of six sites. He plans to undertake a complete knock-down and rebuilt to develop the site into a trading petrol filling station.
Stephen Bell, senior business agent at Christie & Co, handled the sale: “Despite the uncertainty caused by COVID-19 and Brexit, this sale highlights that there is still a strong ongoing demand for sites such as this which can be developed into a petrol filling station. Anyone with such an opportunity should get in touch with us to take full advantage of the current situation.”
