Welsh forecourt Derwydd Garage has been sold by retailer Henry Jones, who owned the business for 42 years. The site, which is situated on the A484 about seven miles north of Carmarthen, had an asking price of £895,000. The new owner is Graham Perfect, who bought the property through

the Bristol office of Christie + Co.

The business occupies a site of about 1.8 acres and has a petrol canopy and forecourt with a shop, plus a fitted car showroom, associated workshops, repair centre and space for the sale of second-hand vehicles.

Jonathan Board, from Christie + Co, said: “The business had been owned by Mr Jones for 42 years, but has been at the current site for 25 years. Our marketing of the business quickly generated interest and the purchaser, Mr Perfect, plans to continue the sale of new cars, repairs and MOT services and to increase the turnover in the shop.”

According to Christie + Co, the deal was completed by way of share sale for an undisclosed sum.
