Top 50 Indie Applegreen plc has chosen to move to Greenergy for fuel supply at an additional 18 of its UK sites. This takes the number of Applegreen sites that Greenergy supplies to 23, out of 68 in its UK estate. Applegreen, which was ranked fifth in this year’s Top 50 Indies, became a publicly traded company last June and said it wanted to expand its network across the UK and in Ireland.
Meanwhile, Greenergy said that as the UK’s only national fuel supplier, with 26 supply locations and its own oil in nine terminals, it is ideally placed to support Applegreen in its planned expansion.
Peter O’Connor, head of finance at Applegreen UK, commented: "As we continue to grow, we need a fuel supplier that is flexible, efficient and competitively priced. Greenergy has been supplying Petrogas since 2013 and has been consistently reliable and accommodating of our evolving business requirements. Greenergy’s pricing is highly competitive, but we don’t choose our suppliers on price alone. Greenergy continues to deliver outstanding service, to provide what we want when we want it, and the commitment of their team continues to impress us."
Caroline Lumbard, Greenergy’s UK trading drector, added: "This forms another important step in our growing supply to the independent forecourt sector."
