Asda has won planning permission to add a petrol station to its supermarket in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire.
Kirklees Council’s planning committee voted to approve the plans by 13 votes to one.
Asda’s UK estate town planning manager, Alan Jones, said: “We welcome the positive vote by the planning committee today which will allow us to make a further investment in the Dewsbury superstore.
“The store is very popular and we conducted an in-store petition which attracted support from hundreds of customers supportive of a new petrol filling station.
“Customers told us they want a convenient and more affordable place to fill up. We are delighted to be bringing even more value and savings to Dewsbury in the near future.”
