A forecourt assistant in Essex was robbed of thousands of pounds at knifepoint by a masked man. According to the Basildon Recorder newspaper, the incident happened at Bell Corner Service Station in Stanford-le-Hope at around 1am on February 24.
The robber was wearing a black ski mask and was armed with a kitchen knife. He approached the cashier and demanded money. The assistant managed to escape to a secure part of the shop where the robber couldn’t get to him but a three-figure sum of cash was stolen, along with a till, which was later found abandoned.
Police described the suspect as a white man of medium build, approximately 5ft 8ins tall. He was wearing dark clothing, black gloves and a black ski mask.
