Thieves have blown up a cash machine at a petrol station in Bolton, Greater Manchester, and stolen a significant amount of cash.
Police were called to reports of an explosion at the Texaco Service Station, on Rishton Lane, Great Lever, at 12.15am on Monday November 14.
They discovered the remains of the cash machine. A cash box from inside it had been stolen by the robbers.
Police have been unable to confirm how much cash was taken, but described it as a “quantity of money”.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: “We were called at 12.15am this morning to reports of an explosion on Rishton Lane. A cash box has been removed from a cash machine at a service station. A quantity of cash was taken.”
