A thirty five year old man from Devizes, Wiltshire, has been charged with two counts of attempted murder and one count of arson with intent to endanger life after a van with two occupants was set alight on a petrol station forecourt.
The incident occurred at the Esso filling station at The Nursery on Bath Road, Devizes, at around 7pm on Friday July 26.
The fire brigade was called but the occupants of the van, two men in their 20s, were able to extinguish the flames.
After the fire Melksham CID appealed for witnesses, particularly the female driver of a white VW Golf, the driver of a blue Peugeot and the driver of a dark coloured Mazda.
Thirty five year old Russell Osbourne from Waiblingen Way was arrested late on Monday night following enquiries across the weekend. He is now due to appear at Swindon Magistrates Court later this morning, Wednesday 31st July.
