The first ever Motor Oil Industry Cricket Tournament was held at Lord’s, the home of cricket on Monday, June 22. In perfect conditions, three teams from the oil, petrol and forecourt industry battled it out and competition was fierce. John Lewis, Forecourt Trader’s executive director put on a star performance, but
the team led by independent oil industry consultant, Keith Guppy, was triumphant on the day.
However the real winner was industry charity BEN. The day has so far raised over £7,000 for BEN, with the final total still being totted up.
Jim Wright, BEN’s Head of National Development said: "We are bowled over by the generosity and enthusiasm of all involved, especially Peter Fender and Keith Guppy. Our thanks must also go to team sponsors: HKS Motors, Scheidt & Bachmann and Green Gate and also to Indigo retail for sponsoring the programme."
