British wholesaler Bestway has acquired Dee Bee Wholesale, which serves 1,400 retail and on-trade customers across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.
Family firm Dee Bee, also known as DB Ramsden & Co Ltd, employs 87 staff, turned over £57m in the last financial year and has been in business for over 65 years.
The acquisition means Dee Bee is no longer part of the UK’s largest independent wholesale buying group, Unitas, which wishes Dee Bee “every success for the future”.
Dawood Pervez, managing director of Bestway Wholesale, which owns Costcutter, Best One and Bargain Booze, says his firm is “delighted to welcome Dee Bee Wholesale into the Bestway Wholesale network.”
Nick Ramsden, managing director of Dee Bee Wholesale says the deal “marks an important milestone for Dee Bee Wholesale and the next stage in the business’s journey”, and the acquisition will “create new opportunities for the business and bring long-term benefits for customers, colleagues and suppliers alike”.
Ramsden reassures customers that despite the change, “it is very much business as usual”, adding: “Our team, service and local relationships remain in place, and we will continue to support customers with the same commitment and service they have come to expect.”
