Bestway Wholesale has announced a series of senior leadership appointments to prepare the business for what it says is its “next phase of growth”.
Effective immediately, former managing director Dawood Pervez has been appointed chairman, and Naser Khan switches from chief operating officer to managing director.
The appointments are aimed at “strengthening leadership capability, supporting long-term growth and ensuring the business remains well placed to respond to the evolving needs of independent retailers, caterers, suppliers and colleagues”.
Both Pervez and Khan have spent more than two decades at Bestway, with experience across wholesale, retail, trading, finance, operations and strategic business development.
Bestway’s chairman emeritus Sir Anwar Pervez says: “These appointments have been made on merit and reflect the board’s confidence that, under Dawood and Naser’s leadership, Bestway Wholesale will continue to grow, innovate and prosper for the benefit of future generations.”
Bestway has also appointed Dan Lewis sales director, with responsibility across independent retail and wholesale, aligning sales more closely with trading, retail and marketing.
Zahir Fazaldin becomes property & logistics director, with responsibility for Bestway’s estate portfolio, property development, logistics strategy, sustainability and environmental efficiency.
And Adina Bejenaru has been recognised as IT director, leading Bestway’s technology strategy, digital infrastructure, cyber security, systems integration and business continuity.
Pervez says that the leadership structure will help the business support the evolving needs of its customers, suppliers and staff.
He adds: “Bestway Wholesale has built its success on strong relationships, entrepreneurial spirit and an absolute commitment to helping independent businesses grow.”
