Sussex Police are appealing for witnesses to a knife point robbery at a service station in Petworth, West Sussex.

At around 7.45pm on Monday (December 15) at The Flower Bowl Garage in London Road, a man walked into the garage with a knife and a baseball bat. He threatened the member of staff on duty and forced him to hand over a substantial amount of cash.

Detective sergeant Jo French said: “Thankfully no one was injured in the robbery. The man is described as wearing dark clothes with his face covered, carrying a pale blue rucksack.

“This is an unusual incident for this area and we believe several vehicles drove past the garage around the time. We are keen to trace these people as witnesses.”
