Chartman Group has celebrated the first anniversary after its flagship Winning Post site reopened following a major redevelopment of the site.
Chartman director Clive Shappard said the anniversary festivities included an open evening attended by some of those who have had a significant input on the business, including suppliers, advisors and customers. There was also a week of in-store demonstrations, samplings and tastings which were very well received.
He added: “The site goes from strength to strength, with sales continuing to hit new heights. Last week we pumped 245,000 litres of fuel, and we expect this to grow further still.
“The site seems universally popular with customers, and is now very much established as a favourite stopping place.”
The reopening last year marked the end of a seven-year campaign by the group following its purchase in 2007.
The development on the A38 near Exeter involved a major expansion of the site, with the timber-framed Spar forecourt store being quadrupled in size to 2,000sq ft and featured a ’starting gate’ layout across the whole of the front of the building.
