The Chartman Group in the West Country was involved in the frenzy of Black Friday with a number of activities at its forecourt stores and a one-day cut-price fuel offer.
Chartman director Clive Sheppard said: “Black Friday received massive media hype so we decided we wanted to get in on the act.”
All of the group’s eight forecourt sites were encouraged to get involved and in addition there was a group-wide cut of 2ppl from fuel prices for the day.
Clive reported: “We received very positive feedback that there was good energy from staff and customers and we will definitely look to get involved again next year.”
He also revealed that the group will be running a range of offers in its forecourt stores to mark Small Business Saturday on December 6.
He said: “It works well for the small stores and encourages local customers to support them, and at the larger stores it gets across the message that we are a small business and not one of the large corporates.”
