Dundee-based CJ Lang, Spar Scotland’s wholesaler, has appointed a new business development manager.
Ashleigh MacPherson will cover the Glasgow, Central belt, Ayrshire and Dumfries areas. Her career includes previous BDM roles at Costcutter and United Wholesale.
CJ Lang currently supplies over 330 Spar Scotland stores, with around 200 of these comprising independent retailers. The firm is Scotland’s largest independent retailing and distribution company, and was founded in 1919.
Brian Straiton, CJ Lang’s sales director, welcomed MacPherson to the firm, commenting that she has “a wealth of experience, knowledge and leadership”, and joins the company at “a very exciting time as the business is continually moving forward with energy and pace.”
MacPherson says she is “delighted to have joined the business”, and that while she has worked in the sector for a decade, she has been “longing for this new fresh challenge”, having kept a “close eye” on CJ Lang, watching the company grow over recent years.
