The Maxol service station on the Glendermott Road in the Waterside area of Londonderry has reopened its doors to customers following an extensive refurbishment.
The convenience and forecourt destination has been taken over and reopened by husband and wife Alan and Val Rodden.
The station has been refurbished to include an extensive modern forecourt, a Maxol Spar store, a Moreish Deli and a Maxwash drive through carwash.
The new licensees, who previously worked in the pharmacy industry, also run the Maxol service station in Eglinton, five miles east of the city.
Brian Donaldson, Maxol Group general manager, said: “We’re thrilled that Alan and Val Rodden have decided to extend their repertoire to include the Waterside Maxol station. They have done exceptionally well with Eglinton, so naturally they were prime candidates when we were seeking someone to operate the Waterside site.”
Alan and Val Rodden said: “We are delighted that we were able to extend our business to the Waterside station. As it is situated right in the centre of the Waterside we could see its potential and therefore felt it was an opportunity we couldn’t let pass by. We love being a part of the Maxol family and we look forward to providing the community with the high levels of service and convenience they have come to expect from Maxol.”
