Detectives in the New Forest, Hampshire, are appealing for information after a burglary at a petrol station on the A35.

A dark coloured Vauxhall Corsa style car entered the Hinton Service Station forecourt from the Dorset direction of the A35 at 3.48am on Friday, April 25.

Three people got out and used tools to force their way into the shop. They then stole cigarettes and tobacco products and six bottles of whiskey before getting back into the car which drove off at speed along the A35 towards Lyndhurst.

The three people involved are described as:

1) Wearing a waterproof hooded jacket with a blue lower half and black upper half split by narrow, horizontal white stripe, a green woolly hat with a white "SKI 8" marking on the back and a white scarf across their face. They also wore black jogging bottoms, gloves and grey trainers.
 2) Wearing blue tracksuit bottoms with two white vertical stripes on each leg, grey trainers and gloves and a dark coloured waterproof jacket with a blue hood.
 3) Wearing black jeans, black hoody, white trainers and gloves.

Cigarettes with a retail value of  about £4,700 were taken in the burglary.

Police are asking for anyone who saw the incident or has any information about the crime to contact them. They’d also like to hear from anyone who may have been offered cheap cigarettes that may have been stolen.
