Bedfordshire Police are seeking information after a robbery at the A6 Filling Station on the A6 at Rushden Road, Souldrop at 8.05pm on Tuesday 30 December.

It began as a female employee was locking the main entrance and a man barged into her and forced her back inside the shop causing them both to fall over. This caused the victim to hit her head and suffer grazing and bruising to her head and elbows.

The offender then demanded the key to the safe. The victim was then made to fill five Shell carrier bags full of cigarettes. While he was making his demands the offender also said “Sorry I have got to do this but I have got to get my kids back”. The offender then made off with the cigarettes but no cash.

The offender was described having pale blue eyes, about 5 foot 8 inches tall and was of slim build. He was wearing a face covering, dark jogging bottoms and a grey jacket.

Detective constable Jason Wheeler said: “This was a frightening experience for the victim and I would like to hear from anybody who may have information about this incident. Somebody knows who committed this crime and the offender needs to be caught. The female victim was injured by this offender and was badly shaken by the attack.
