Police are appealing for witnesses after a forecourt worker was robbed at the Murco garage in Morden, Surrey.

The incident happened on Monday, at approximately 09.55, when the 45-year-old male employee was collecting the weekend’s takings from the site. When he got back to his vehicle, two men approached him – one hit him over the head with a blunt object, while the other sprayed what is believed to be CS spray into his face.

The thieves then picked up the bag and made off – in a black VW Golf – with approximately £30,000. The victim was taken to a west London hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and has since been discharged.

Both suspects are described as black or Asian males; both were wearing high-vis jackets and motorbike helmets.
