A forecourt in Alrewas, Staffordshire is so fed up with fuel theft that it’s put up a reward of £100-worth of fuel for the first person who comes forward with information that leads to an arrest. The reward relates specifically to two recent fuel thefts by one man.
The first incident happened on Tuesday August 5 at the JT Leavesley Ltd garage in Alrewas, and the second occurred at the same site on Friday, August 22.
In the second incident the offender, driving a vehicle with stolen number plates, stole £62.42 of fuel.
Police are linking the two offences and are investigating.
The garage owner has released a CCTV image of the suspect in the hope that someone might recognise them and contact police with information.
Site manager Gill Purkiss told Forecourt Trader: “We’re just fed up with fuel theft so we have offered this reward – hopefully with the price of fuel, someone will come forward. The story’s been covered by the local newspapers and is also on Facebook. We actually know who the person responsible is, it’s just a case of catching him.”
