Fuel deliveries to filling stations should return to normal levels before Easter, according to UKPIA, the trade association representing the main oil refining and marketing companies in the UK which sources up to 90% of the UK’s transport fuels.
Director general Chris Hunt said: “Supplies of fuel to filling stations are returning to normal in most areas in good time for the Easter break. The sudden surge in demand last week placed strain on the fuel delivery system. Easter is normally a period of higher demand so we would ask that motorists don’t purchase more fuel than they anticipate needing for their immediate needs.”
