Epos provider Henderson Technology has installed its 1,000th digital media screen, marking the continual transition away from the printed boards that used to dominate forecourts and other retail outlets.
Over 800 retailers, including many forecourt operators, host the Henderson’s digital boards, which come in sizes ranging from 32 to 76 inches, in portrait or landscape formats, and in full HD and 4K resolutions.
The screens are integrated with the firm’s Edge point-of-sale system, and can be updated electronically and automatically, showing promotions, seasonal campaigns, price lists for food-to-go concessions, and all manner of other displays.
Darren Nickels, retail technology operations director at the Northern Irish firm, describes installing the firm’s 1,000th screen as “a significant milestone” that “reflects the growing demand for digital signage solutions within the convenience and forecourt sectors”.
He adds: “Retailers are increasingly looking for ways to communicate more effectively with customers while improving operational efficiency. The ability to update content quickly and maintain consistency across multiple locations has made digital signage an increasingly important part of the modern retail environment.”
