Manager Edward Prosser has been busy making changes at the Harry Tuffins site which was the overall winner in the Main Route category in Shropshire in the past year. One of the main changes is the newly-built glass atrium at the front of the store which now houses hot food, food-to-go, coffee and a range of plants. Edward, manager since the site opened at the beginning of 2007, says the latest addition has proved a success with the site’s wide range of customers.

He adds: "We get customers who come in to do their weekly shop, as well as businessmen just popping in for a coffee. Either way we try to cater for what they all need. We also have a very comprehensive grocery range for the size of store, which we’re very proud of."

Edward says friendly and helpful staff are also key. He explains: "I think some forecourts have got a bad name for customer service. We think of ourselves as a convenience store with a forecourt attached and we try to provide the customer service you get in a supermarket, but with a forecourt area."
