Following a successful trial at six sites earlier this year, BP’s Ultimate 102 ’handmade’ unleaded petrol is being made available on a further 30 forecourts. The fuel is designed for highly-tuned, high-performance cars and is therefore premium priced at £2.42 per litre.

Poland, Estonia and Lithuania now have the highest penetration of unmanned, automated petrol stations in Central and Eastern Europe as experienced players from the Nordic market have moved in. More than 10% of Estonia’s sites are now automated and Poland is expected to have 75 unmanned sites by the end of the year.

Car wash company Atlantis has moved a step closer to securing tax breaks for retailers installing its water reclaim systems. Managing director Pater Spencer has attended a working party meeting to get the equipment included in the Enhanced Capital Allowance scheme and hopes measures will be in place by the end of the year.
