The Scottish government has outlined proposals to ban displaying tobacco products in shops in its Measures in the Smoking Prevention Action Plan document. According to the Tobacco Alliance, retailers say the plan threatens the livelihood of hundreds of small shops.

The main focus of the APEA 2008 Conference will be the future of energy, including presentations on alternative fuels and green gas stations. The event takes place at the Telford International Centre on October 23.

The Co-operative Retail Trading Group is changing 45 forecourt sites to BP, with another 40 re-signing with the oil company’s dealer network for another five years.
