== AA signs to euroShell ==

 

The AA will use the euroShell fuel card for part of the 9mlpa of fuel it buys per year for its 3,000 patrols. The company will use the fuel card’s online management system to save on fleet management running costs as well as gaining volume discounts on Shell advanced technology fuels. Matthew Snelling, Shell UK fleet sales manager, said: "The euroShell fuel card provides the AA with a cost-effective fuel management system and comprehensive network coverage of over 900 UK sites."

 

== Green energy awards ==

 

Morrisons received an accolade at the British Renewable Energy Awards 2009 due to its work promoting high blend biofuels E85 and B30. The supermarket came runner up in the Pioneer Award category at the annual event, which rewards an organisation outside the sustainable energy industry for "pioneering the use of renewable fuels, heat or power". In addition, Morrisons director, petrol filling stations, Phil Maud (pictured), was shortlisted in the Champion Award category, which acknowledges an individual who the organisation thinks deserves recognition in the sector.

 

== Ear today, gone tomorrow ==

 

Staff at the Bypass Service Station, East Lothian, tried to save part of a man’s ear with ice lollies after it was bitten off by customer Wayne Morrison, 35. The piece of Christopher Dean’s ear was found on the floor and staff hoped the lollies would preserve it. The operation was unsuccessful.
