Sewell is top employer

 

 

Sewell Group, which owns Hull-based independent retailer Sewell Retail, has been named the eighth best company to work for in the UK. The company scooped the award at the Sunday Times Best 100 Companies 2010 event. Sewell Retail is number 20 in our Top 50 Indies list 2010.

 

 

Chevron refinery for sale

 

 

Chevron is looking for a buyer for its Pembroke refinery in west Wales. The operation, which is Chevron’s only refinery in Europe, employs about 1,400 people and is capable of processing 220,000 barrels of crude oil a day. The US oil giant revealed it would be "soliciting bids for certain operations in Europe", including the refinery.

 

 

Euro’s Starbucks deal

 

 

Euro Garages has opened a ’drive-thru’ Starbucks coffee store at one of its forecourts in Wales. The Blackburn-based independent retailer said it had signed a licensing deal with Starbucks to open up to 30 such coffee stores in the UK some on forecourts, some as standalone outlets. The first ’drive-thru’ opened its doors last week and is based at Euro Garages’ BP site in Deeside, North Wales, which also has a Spar convenience offering and Burger King.

 

 

BP partners with DHL

 

 

BP has signed a four-year deal with DHL Supply Chain to manage the UK warehousing and distribution of dry goods and chilled produce for its UK convenience business.According to DHL, the new £75m contract should see the companies improve on productivity targets.
