Moto renews P&H deal
Motorway services operator Moto has renewed its supply deal with Palmer and Harvey, for an additional three years. Palmer and Harvey has been supplying Moto since March 2008, and the new contract commenced on January 1, 2015, and will run until December 2017, providing 41 Moto service areas with ambient, chilled and frozen goods.
Arrests over fuel fraud
A man and woman from Kent have been arrested by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) on suspicion of being involved in a large-scale fuel fraud. It is believed that the fraud duped unsuspecting motorists and robbed taxpayers of more than £200,000 in unpaid fuel duty and VAT.
Allies fight illegal trade
JTI has joined forces with the independent crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers to work together to stamp out the illegal tobacco trade across the UK. The partnership, which begins this month, will see the Crimestoppers anonymous helpline number publicised as the primary "call to action" across all of JTI’s illegal tobacco campaigns throughout the UK.
Morrisons in BOSS trial
Morrisons has begun trials with BOSS (The British Oil Security Syndicate) and its Payment Watch scheme over several forecourts within its estate. Fuel service stations within Morrisons’ trial group have become individual members of BOSS’s debt recovery scheme that puts in place a co-ordinated system for recovering financial losses incurred by ’no means of payment’ incidents. The trial will run during 2015.
Tesco sites avoid axe
Tesco has said that none of its 500 filling stations are among the 43 store closures that were confirmed last week. The closures will begin on March 15 and be completed by April 4.
