Rontec’s 40 Co-op sites
Rontec has completed a deal to acquire a package of 40 sites across England and Wales from the Co-operative Group, and all the stores have now transferred to Rontec following a three-month process. Giles Taylor, managing director of Rontec, commented: "As one of the leading players in the forecourt industry, we are very pleased to complete this deal with the Co-op which sees us continuing to grow our network, expanding our presence across the UK."
Sewells’ Subway No 3
Top 50 Indie and current Forecourt Trader of the Year Sewell on the go has opened its third Subway with more planned for 2017. It has created 12 new jobs with the opening of the new Subway at its Cottingham branch. This is the third Subway sandwich franchise to open within the business in the past 12 months, with others located in South Cave and Chanterlands Avenue in West Hull.
Puma storage purchase
Puma Energy has bought a bulk storage fuel terminal in Belfast, Northern Ireland, from BP. According to Puma, the addition takes its global network of bulk storage terminals to 100, with a total storage volume of 7.9 million cubic metres. The company said the acquisition builds on its purchase of the 1.4 million cubic metre Milford Haven Terminal in 2015, further supporting its growth within the European market, and helping to ensure high-quality, reliable fuel supply to Northern Ireland.
Thieves blow up ATM
Thieves have blown up a cash machine at a petrol station in Bolton, Greater Manchester, and stolen a significant amount of cash.
Police were called to reports of an explosion at the Texaco Service Station, on Rishton Lane, Great Lever, at 2.15am on Monday November 14, but the robbers had fled.
