BP has opened two new service stations with M&S Simply Foods. On July 26 a new-to-industry site opened at Aylsham, in Norfolk, and earlier in the month a former Shell site in Wadebridge, Cornwall, reopened. The fuel station has been closed since February 26 while the redevelopment was carried out.
atm robbery results in fire
A criminal used welding equipment in an attempt to break into a forecourt cash machine and then fled when it caught fire yards from the pumps. The attack happened overnight at the Jet-branded Chidswell Service Station on Leeds Road in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, late last month. West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service dealt with the fire, which is now being investigated by West Yorkshire Police.
greenergy buys inver energy
Greenergy has agreed to purchase 100% of the shares of Inver Energy, an Ireland-based independent fuel supplier, giving it a presence in the growing Irish market for the first time. Inver’s business activities include import and storage facilities and fuel supply operations in Ireland, as well as an Irish retail dealer network under the Inver brand.

new £10 note unveiled
The Bank of England has unveiled the design and security features of the new £10 note featuring the author Jane Austen, which will be issued on September 14. It is printed on polymer and is the first Bank of England banknote with a tactile feature designed to help blind and partially sighted users. It contains sophisticated security features created to make it difficult to counterfeit. The bank is encouraging retailers and businesses to use the time between now and the issue of the new note to train their staff about the security and design features on the new note.
