Greenergy, the UK’s largest supplier of road fuels, has confirmed that it has completed the acquisition of Inver Energy in Ireland. Agreement on the deal, which gives Greenergy a presence in the growing Irish market for the first time, was announced on July 13. Inver’s business includes import and storage facilities and fuel supply operations in Ireland, as well as an Irish retail dealer network operating under the Inver brand.

A press release said the terms of the ’potential transaction’ would include the incoming investor taking control of the equity of Palmer and Harvey McLane (Holdings) Limited.

A man suspected of trafficking workers into the UK to work at a hand car wash in Lancashire was arrested by Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority (GLAA) investigators on October 19. Eight potential victims were recovered in the operation, which also involved officers from Preston South Division’s Modern Slavery Unit at Lancashire Police, Immigration Enforcement and the National Crime Agency.

Hertfordshire police investigating a rash of burglaries at petrol stations have arrested seven suspects following a series of early morning raids in Harlow. The arrests come as part of a joint investigation by the Hertfordshire, Essex and Kent forces into 42 commercial burglaries in which large quantities of cigarettes and cash were taken.

Moto’s Reading M4 westbound services has been named England’s top motorway services according to a new survey by Transport Focus, the independent transport user watchdog. Top 50 Indie Euro Garages bagged second place with its Rivington Service station. In a survey of all 112 motorway services in England, 8,700 customers had their say on facilities.
