Irene Hunter of Eurospar Dromara, Northern Ireland has been awarded Forecourt Sector winner in the 2014 Sales Assistant of the year awards, run by Forecourt Trader’s sister title Convenience Store.
The judges said that Irene’s flair for service and sales boosting initiatives had had an immensely positive impact on the store over the past nine years.
"Her idea to sample the store’s Product of The Week has helped it soar up the company’s internal rankings, while cigarette sales are up 12% after she implemented a keener focus on availability and price marked packs.
"Irene’s commitment to charitable causes is also noteworthy and she raised more than £2,500 for Alzheimer’s and Dementia after asking for donations rather than birthday presents when she turned 50."
