Italian coffee company Lavazza has signed a deal to install hundreds of coffee machines in MFG forecourts.
The contract is a significant boost for Lavazza, with MFG customers buying 25 million cups of coffee a year.
The forecourt operator is the first UK firm to host Lavazza’s new ‘Coffee Essence’ machines, which allow for drink customisations including extra shots and flavoured syrups, and also dispense en vogue matcha green tea.
Lavazza says “more than 600” of its machines will be installed across the Top 50 Indies’ portfolio under the ‘Lavazza On The Move’ brand. The machines are being rolled out now, with over 600 set to be in place by spring 2027, and Lavazza also supplying MFG with two different coffee blends.
William Bannister, MFG’s chief executive, says his firm and Lavazza “have worked closely together to create a new state-of-the-art coffee offer”, and the machines are poised to give customers “a greater choice along with great value - and some of the best tasting coffee in the UK”.
Lavazza Professional’s UK market director, Ken MacIsaac, called the deal “an important milestone for Lavazza Professional”, adding the Essence machine “brings together a striking new design, greater choice and high quality”.
