Petrol stations serving LPG (Liquified Petroleum Gas) across Lincolnshire were all well within required limits after a swoop by the county’s trading standards officers.
The tests were carried out by specialist weights and measures officers, and all 10 pumps at the seven tested premises were found to be selling accurate levels of LPG, which were well within the 2% tolerance level.
Tim Dawson, principal trading standards officer at Lincolnshire County Council, commented: “We regularly test fuel pumps for accuracy and compliancy with regulations. We measure things like flow rates and volumes of fuel dispensed against the display reading, as well as checking tolerance levels.
“It’s so important that we carry out regular checks to ensure that consumers are not being ripped off and businesses are operating in a fair and equitable trading environment.”
The petrol stations where tests were carried out were: Shell, Burton Road, Lincoln; Haltham Garage, Haltham; Flogas, Spratt Close, Horncastle; St Leonards Service Station, London Road, Grantham; Hockmeyer Motors, Holdingham Garage, Sleaford; Four Winds Service Station, A17 East Heckington; and Apple Green, Sleaford Road, Boston.
