Londis claims it is the first UK convenience chain to offer retailers personalised web pages for their stores. The new pages form part of the Londis consumer website, which was upgraded last year.
The new functionality allows retailers to personalise their own store page with unique store details and local information. The site is also fully mobile compatible, following research which revealed over 20% of Londis website visitors were accessing the site via smartphone.
The site, which is free for retailers to populate, can feature local community activity, fund-raising initiatives, unique in-store deals and local events to ensure local shoppers are regularly updated. To help retailers populate their own store page, Londis has created a step-by-step guide.
Londis marketing director Anna Burleigh commented: “In today’s world of fast communications, shoppers expect businesses to have easy to use, relevant websites, no matter what size of business.
“As the first convenience chain to offer personalised store pages, we believe this will help retailers market their services to local customers. The investment from Londis in the new site has already increased traffic to the website by 27%.
“We know retailers add their personal touch in store to ensure they are responsive to local community needs and we want retailers to have an individual webpage which reflects this.”
Londis retailer Sunder Sandher added: “The new website will help retailers like myself get closer to shoppers and allow us to showcase the work we’re doing with local communities. It’s a great tool for retailers and we need to make the most of it; it’s free and simple to use and I’ll be updating my website regularly to engage with shoppers.”
